9 Movies On Netflix That Are Even Better Than Porn

Boogie Nights

Is it sexier than porn? No. Is it more satisfying than porn? Yes. In Paul Thomas Anderson’s long-ass dramedy about the porn industry through the 70s and beyond, Mark Wahlberg works his way up from dishwasher to porn superstar all because of his giant peen. It might not be sexy-sexy, but it’s nuance-sexy, which is also A Mood.

The Hottest Parts:

Keep your eyes peeled because the very last scene at the end is where we finally get to see Wahlberg’s giant penis. So tempting to skip ahead, but seriously, watch the whole thing — there are some particularly hot sex scenes with Julianne Moore, too.

Carol

The love story between Carol (Cate Blanchett) and Therese (Rooney Mara) is so tender and sweet that it’ll stay with you forever. Carol is an older housewife who encounters Therese while shopping at a department store during the holidays and the two start a secret relationship.

The Hottest Parts:

It’s not hot and heavy porn-y stuff, but not sanitized fairy-tale love either. The movie reminds you that good sex requires chemistry and depicts a version of female sexuality that’s rarely explored aside from the binary of animalistic lust vs. precious princess sex.

Cruel Intentions

Netflix describes this movie as “steamy” and “dark” and I couldn’t agree more emphatically. Basically a raunchier precursor to Gossip Girl, Cruel Intentions is based on a French play and follows the convoluted lives of rich Manhattan high schoolers as they make bets, break hearts, and get horny with each other. Not to mention it stars some of your fav ‘90s heart-throbs, like Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Reese Witherspoon.

The Hottest Parts:

There are some confusingly erotic moments of sexual tension between Phillippe and Gellar, who play step siblings. The power of taboo, etc etc. But Philippe and Witherspoon have a touching romance all their own with a steamy first-time sex scene that sticks with you.

Love

If you’re in the mood for nudity and lots of it, Gaspar Noé’s film Love delivers in no short supply. It tells the story of an American man in Paris who feels fed up with his life and decides to work out those feelings via lots of boning. The reviews were mixed.

The Hottest Parts:

If the traditional “money shot” is your thing, Love features a 3D sex scene wherein its protagonist, Murphy, ejaculates straight into the camera. Enjoy!

Blue Is The Warmest Color

This gorgeous coming of age dramance (drama/romance, naturally) centers around a young woman exploring her sexuality after meeting a charismatic art student. Equal parts tender and electrifying, Blue Is The Warmest Color snapped up awards, including the Palme d’Or.

The Hottest Parts:

A French teen (Adèle Exarchopoulos) forms a deep emotional and sexual connection with an older art student (Léa Seydoux) she met in a lesbian bar.

Eyes Wide Shut

Bill (Tom Cruise) and Alice (Nicole Kidman) encounter some marital tensions when she reveals she’s had fantasies about a naval officer they met on vacation. This prompts Bill to do what all of us would: attend a secret mansion sex orgy which he is warned to never speak of again.

The Hottest Parts:

The secret mansion sex orgy is not to be missed, though it’s also creepy and unsettling. (Technically this movie is an erotic thriller).

Y Tu Mamá También

Julio (Gael García Bernal) and Tenoch (Diego Luna) are two teenage friends who decide to take a bachelor road trip through Mexico while their girlfriends are gone for the summer. Before they go, they meet Luisa (Maribel Verdú), Tenoch’s cousin’s girlfriend in her late 20s who asks if she can join them. And then, you guessed it: lots of sex happens!

The Hottest Parts:

Luisa having sex with Tenoch is 🔥. Luisa having sex with Julio. And then, of course, the inevitable threesome that feels genuinely soulful and erotic over cheesy and forced.

Magic Mike

The original from director Steven Soderbergh is decidedly less overtly sexy than the sequel, Magic Mike XXL, but it has two important things going for it: An actual plot line (sorry XXL) and Matthew McConaughey gyrating in neon booty shorts. Magic Mike is about male strippers and is at least partially inspired by lead actor Channing Tatum’s IRL experience as a stripper in Florida.

The Hottest Parts:

Standout sexy moments are any time the men are in ass less chaps, and there’s something with a penis pump. But it’d be rude to spoil that moment for you.

A Perfect Ending

The plot here is kinda dark, but gives way to some truly sex, “how is this on Netflix” moments. In search of her first orgasm, Rebecca meets a woman named Paris through an escort service run by Rebecca’s cousin.

The Hottest Parts:

Without giving too much away, let’s just say Rebecca is successful in her quest and the film makes that very much known.
