You know what they say about what happens when you assume. As it turns out, a very similar phenomenon sometimes occurs when you have expectations about how something is going to turn out.
It may be a craft project you found on Pinterest, or a product you ordered online, or something else entirely. Regardless, if it’s something you have high hopes and expectations for, you can pretty much count on the fact that reality is not going to quite live up to your lofty expectations. But that’s not always a bad thing! Sometimes you end up with a hilarious picture that you can share with the Internet, and that can be even better than getting what you wanted in the first place!
Kind of. Sort of.
OK, not really. I just like to look at the bright side of things.
But while your disappointment might not be funny to you…
You can rest assured that plenty of people on the Internet will find it downright hilarious.
Need proof? Just read on!
This is the perfect pizza for anyone who hates pepperoni.
There are only three to pick off!
Well, your daughter may not have been able to wear the shirt, but at least you provided a funny picture to the internet.
That’s worth something, right?
It’s probably for the best that this sandwich is only available for a limited time.
In fact, maybe we should severely limit that time window.
It’s not like you’re gonna have that forever…
Do you like biscuits? If so, I’ve got really good news for you.
But if you like chicken, well, I’ve got some bad news.
The Cookie Monsters on the left are pretty darn impressive.
The Cookie Monsters on the right…well, they’ve certainly seen something disturbing.
We’ve all seen our fair share of cake fails on the internet, but this one just about takes the cake.
Then again, at least you have cake!
To be fair, we don’t know what aliens look like (or whether they exist at all).
If they turn out to look like this, we’re all gonna feel really silly for laughing at these balloons.
The smile is certainly there. That looks fine.
The lack of eyes is pretty disturbing, though.
Not quite how they looked in the picture, huh?
I hope they didn’t pay too much for these.
Oofa doofa. That is a very rough approximation if you ask me.
She must be the Maid of Dishonor.
No, no, I get it.
It’s art. Somehow.
These creme-filled cookies:
Did I say creme-filled?
My mistake. These are clearly nothing of the sort.
This chocolate chip cookie:
I mean, it’s called a chocolate chip cookie.
Not a chocolate chips cookie. I don’t know what you’re complaining about.
Not even Hermione-levels of magic skill can make me believe that that thing on the right was ever a frog.
I don’t even want to think about how someone ended up with this being served to them by a restaurant. It’s just too sad.
This meatball bread bowl:
Once again, it’s a meatball bread bowl.
Not a meatballs bread bowl. You people are so picky!
I don’t know why anyone would choose to depict The Great Flamingo Slaughter on their birthday cake, but I know the perfect baker for the job!
It was supposed to be a keepsake item made from baby clothes.
Instead, it’s something that will give you and your children nightmares.
Well. Hair is certainly involved.
I’m afraid that’s where the similarities stop.
These glazed chicken tenders:
This one actually hurts on a personal level because I keep thinking these chicken tenders sound so good.
So much for that, I guess.
I think it’s safe to say this toilet has gone to the Dark Side.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t strike back.
If you’re looking to wish someone a happy birthday, this is not the banner for you.
Luckily for me, I’ve been looking for something to wish my friend a “Harpy Bipthday” and I’ve found just the thing!
I like that this person tries to give Applebees the benefit of the doubt, but come on.
This is just reprehensible.
I don’t care that it costs more than $100.
I need this tall bear.
No, actually you do not get an owl. You just get a mistake.
This cupcake Santa Claus:
He sees you when you’re sleeping.
He knows when you’re awake.
He’s horrifying to look at.
Smash him, for goodness’ sake.
